The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has made qualitative leaps in the field of land reclamation projects and planting them with strategic crops.

Hawzah News Agency –The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has made qualitative leaps in the field of land reclamation projects and planting them with strategic crops, by developing long-term plans based on a future vision aimed at supporting the agricultural sector, which is an essential element in strengthening the economic sector.

The Al-Kafeel Company of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine had important agricultural initiatives which output was reflected in the local market, including (Anwar Al-Saqi Farm), which is another addition to the agricultural chain at the Holy Shrine.

And about the company’s efforts, the head of the Department of Agricultural Affairs and Livestock Resources, Engineer Ali Maz'al Layedh, said, “The al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine’s agricultural initiatives have diversified through the establishment of specialized farms and others concerned with strategic crops, including (Anwar al-Saqi farm), which has an area of (330) dunums in the Kamaliya area, north of the holy city of Karbala."

He added, "The farm specializes in fodder crops, and it also includes a covered area of (4000 m2) to accommodate (800) sheep head from mothers and a number of rams and fattening lambs, which depend for their nutrition on grazing with green fodder planted in these farms."

Layedh explained, "Through this project and its ilk, the Holy Shrine looks forward to greatly supporting the agricultural sector, in addition to providing job opportunities for a large segment of society. Moreover, these projects are considered a sustainable wealth."

The head of the Department of Agricultural Affairs and Livestock Wealth stated, "The methods used for farming inside these farms are the most advanced and modern in terms of irrigation and technology used in fertilization systems and land reclamation, by relying on the staff working in the company and also in cooperation with the Khair Al-Joud Company for Agriculture Technology and Modern Industry affiliated with the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.”

It is worth noting that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, through its investment companies, seeks to provide an integrated economic environment, by establishing strategic projects such as farms, factories and other facilities.
